LG TV owners are receiving an exciting upgrade just in time for the holiday season. LG, the prominent Korean tech company, has announced a significant enhancement to its popular LG Channels platform, introducing a host of new features and a wealth of additional free content, including shows from Sky.
The recent update, which commenced rollout this month, enables users of select LG screens to access content from Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Classics without the need for a subscription. Furthermore, LG has recently incorporated the Sky News channel, expanding its free channel lineup.
In addition to these offerings, the update brings a variety of new content, such as LG1 Christmas for festive entertainment, the FIFA+ Women Channel for soccer enthusiasts, and the DP World Tour for golf enthusiasts.
These new channels, like all LG Channels, operate on the FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) model, meaning viewers will encounter advertisements during their viewing experience.
Beyond the channel additions, the update introduces broader enhancements, including personalized content suggestions and a revamped user interface aimed at facilitating quicker and easier content discovery.
A new feature called “Quick Access” allows viewers to press the “OK” button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a program to promptly access channel information, the TV guide, favorite channels, and popular content.
