“Beaverbrooks to Close Stores on Boxing Day, Reward Staff”

Must Read

Beaverbrooks, a popular high street jewellery chain, has decided to close all 83 of its stores on Boxing Day. As a gesture of appreciation for their hard work throughout the year, the company will provide its employees with an extra week of pay. This practice has become a festive tradition for Beaverbrooks, reflecting their commitment to valuing and rewarding their staff.

Established in 1919 by the Adlestone brothers in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Beaverbrooks has a long history of family values at its core. Managing Director Anna Blackburn emphasized the importance of prioritizing employees in every decision to cultivate a dedicated workforce that delivers exceptional customer service.

In addition to granting staff time off, Beaverbrooks has also hired 50 seasonal roles to support operations during the busy holiday season. The company aims to set an example for other businesses by showcasing the significance of employee well-being and satisfaction in achieving business success.

Joining the ranks of stores closing on Boxing Day, Home Bargains will also shut down for three days over the Christmas period, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. This decision aligns with the retailer’s commitment to providing its hard-working employees with a well-deserved break during the festive season.

Other major retailers like M&S and Aldi have followed suit in closing their stores on Boxing Day, demonstrating their appreciation for their workforce. These closures allow employees to spend quality time with their families and loved ones during the holiday season. Aldi will also close its stores on New Year’s Day and resume operations on December 27, maintaining a focus on employee welfare and work-life balance.
