An elderly woman is in critical condition following a vicious attack by her seven Rottweilers. The 77-year-old was swiftly taken to the hospital after her unruly dogs assaulted her in Gravatai, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, on Saturday. This incident occurred just a day after a 70-year-old man lost his life when four pit bulls attacked him in Minas do Leao, also in Rio Grande do Sul.
The unnamed woman sustained severe injuries to her nose, ear, and multiple lower limbs, with part of her scalp torn off. Reportedly, all the aggressive dogs belonged to her and were later seized by the Municipal Guard.
Dr. Renato Fetter, who attended to the patient, mentioned that she was fortunate to survive the ordeal. He described her injuries as including the loss of the tip of her nose, a nasal fracture, complete destruction of her ear, and mutilation of her lower limbs.
In a separate tragic incident, market trader Paulo Roberto de Carvalho, 63, was fatally attacked by two pit bulls in Duque de Caxias, Baixada Fluminense. This event occurred a week before his death, leaving his family mourning the loss of the hard-working family man.
Recently, a one-week-old baby named Jason Anthony Weaver passed away after being mauled by the family’s dog, a five-year-old husky-pit bull mix. The infant suffered fatal blunt-force trauma wounds, despite efforts by medics to save him. Following the incident, animal control captured the dog and placed it in quarantine, ruling the baby’s death as accidental.
The grieving family paid tribute to the baby through an online obituary, remembering his brief life with fondness. Additionally, a five-month-old boy was tragically killed by a dog in Florida after being left in the care of relatives by his mother on her birthday. Sheriff Mike Chitwood expressed deep sadness over the heartbreaking case and mentioned the possibility of euthanizing the dog involved.
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, the baby’s great-grandmother discovered him lifeless and covered in blood next to their 130lb Great Dane and husky mix upon returning to the room. Despite immediate medical attention upon the parents’ return, the child was pronounced dead.
