“Olympic Medalist Inspires Next Generation at Ealing Club”

Must Read

Georgia Hunter Bell, an Olympic bronze medalist in the 1500m, recently secured a silver medal in the 800m world championships in Tokyo, edging out her training partner Keely Hodgkinson. To give back to the community where she first honed her skills, Hunter Bell visited Ealing Southall & Middlesex Athletics Club at their Perivale headquarters.

During her visit, Hunter Bell mentored young athletes, participated in a Q&A session, and emphasized the importance of bravery in competition. She shared insights on the significance of taking risks, discipline in training, proper recovery methods, and the value of rest.

Having left her cybersecurity job to pursue her athletic career, Hunter Bell highlighted the individual journey each athlete embarks on and encouraged the young club members to focus on their own paths without comparing themselves to others. Her return to the club was highly appreciated by its members, drawing parallels to the achievements of former Ealing athlete Dame Kelly Holmes.

ESM membership manager Peter Flewitt praised Hunter Bell’s accomplishments and the impact of her visit, underscoring the importance of support, training, and belief in achieving success in athletics.
