Authorities have reported the arrest of two ambulance service employees in connection with a significant inquiry into six deaths in Wiltshire.

Additionally, a 59-year-old female was taken into custody on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter. Both individuals have been granted bail.
The investigation was initiated in 2023. Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker of the Wiltshire Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team stated, “We can confirm an extensive inquiry is underway concerning multiple adult fatalities in and around Wiltshire. This investigation commenced following an initial report to Wiltshire Police in 2023, and comprehensive inquiries have been conducted to establish the truth.”
“In June 2024, a male in his 30s from West Wiltshire was arrested on suspicion of six counts of gross negligence manslaughter and four counts of ill-treatment or willful neglect by a care provider. Furthermore, in March of this year, a 59-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter. Both individuals have been released on conditional bail as our investigations progress.”
“Our primary focus is on providing support to the families and friends of the deceased, and we urge the media to respect their privacy during this period. Both individuals were employees of the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.”
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust commented, “Upon becoming aware of any concerns, the trust promptly commenced an internal investigation leading to a swift police referral, and we have been cooperating closely with the authorities as part of the ongoing probe.”
“Two staff members were suspended immediately. Their suspension entailed the immediate cessation of all duties, including patient care. We wish to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident with no ongoing risk to patients. In case of a life-threatening emergency, please continue to dial 999.”
