Must Read

Chrissy Teigen recently shared her emotional journey after her son, Miles, was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes last summer. The 39-year-old model, who has four children with her husband John Legend, opened up about the initial fear and uncertainty she experienced when doctors discovered Miles’ condition during a summer camp incident.

Speaking at Hello Sunshine’s Shine Away event, Chrissy admitted feeling scared and nervous when they received the diagnosis. Despite her usual composure in chaotic situations, she expressed surprise at how much she had to learn quickly to manage the condition.

Initially, doctors suspected an intestinal infection when Miles fell ill, given his active nature. However, further tests revealed the lifelong autoimmune condition of Type 1 Diabetes, where the body stops producing insulin, leading to high blood sugar levels. Chrissy recounted Miles asking why he was affected and not his sister Luna, a question she found challenging to answer.

Since then, Chrissy has become an advocate for diabetes awareness, collaborating with Sanofi’s Screen For Type 1 campaign to emphasize the importance of early detection and testing. She stressed the significance of screening to provide individuals with necessary knowledge and preparation.

In addition to discussing her advocacy work, Chrissy also praised her friend Meghan Markle for her kindness and strength. The model defended Meghan against public scrutiny and expressed admiration for her character and intentions. Chrissy even mentioned the possibility of organizing playdates between their children, showing her fondness for Meghan and her family.

Despite her busy schedule, Chrissy humorously mentioned her reluctance to leave the house for social engagements, indicating her focus on home-based activities. Overall, Chrissy’s candid revelations shed light on her personal experiences and her support for important causes.
