Authorities have revealed that the horrifying rape, torture, and murder of three women were live-streamed on the social media platform Instagram. Police are currently conducting investigations after approximately 45 individuals witnessed the disturbing acts, including the amputation of one woman’s fingers and the suffocation of another with a plastic bag within a closed group on the platform.
The victims have been identified as Lara Gutierrez, aged 15, Brenda del Castillo, aged 20, and Morena Verdi, aged 21. Reports suggest that the women were lured to a remote location near Buenos Aires under false pretenses by a drug cartel, which accused them of stealing cocaine.
Following their abduction, the women were subjected to torment and ultimately murdered in what is being described as a retaliatory attack ordered by the gang’s leader. This crime boss, believed to be a Peruvian national who has fled the country, allegedly orchestrated the brutal killings as a warning to others.
Javier Alonso, the security minister of Buenos Aires, confirmed that the heinous acts were live-streamed online to a restricted audience of about 45 people. He stated, “This is a clear message from the gang leader illustrating the consequences of crossing him.” The bodies of the victims were discovered several days after they went missing, buried in a garden.
Four individuals have been apprehended in connection with the crime, with additional suspects in custody. The investigation is progressing swiftly to capture all those responsible for the planning and execution of these atrocities.
This tragic incident has been labeled a “narco act of revenge,” with reports indicating that the victims were targeted due to alleged drug theft. The details of the brutality inflicted on the women, including dismemberment and suffocation, have shocked the community and law enforcement officials alike.
The families of the victims, devastated by the loss, are seeking justice for their loved ones. The community is urged to come forward with any information that may aid in the ongoing investigation to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
Reports initially suggested that the live-stream occurred on TikTok, but subsequent information confirmed that Instagram was the actual platform used for the broadcast. Various reputable news outlets have corroborated this information, emphasizing the gravity of the situation and the need for swift and decisive action.
