Meghan Markle recently shared the story of her quick trip from Paris to California for a significant reason. The Duchess of Sussex had a busy schedule in early October, starting with a solo appearance at Paris Fashion Week and then attending various events in New York and Washington DC. Despite the packed itinerary, Meghan made a 6,000-mile journey back home to Montecito to be with her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, before heading to New York.
At the Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit, Meghan was commended for her humanitarian work on online safety and parenting. During the event, she mentioned her decision to prioritize seeing her children over continuing her travels immediately. Reflecting on their move to California after Megxit five years ago, Meghan highlighted the importance of nesting and healing during that time without a clear plan for the future.
Meghan also discussed her passion project, As Ever, which emerged from her time spent at home during the past five years. Contrary to expectations of venturing into fashion or beauty, Meghan focused on activities like making jam while in casual attire. She emphasized the value of community-building and personal fulfillment during her time in California.
