“Blackpool Council Offers £300 Winter Energy Aid”

Must Read

Thousands of households may qualify for £300 in winter energy assistance. Blackpool Council is providing this support through its Household Support Fund, tailored to each local authority’s needs, offering aid such as energy support, supermarket vouchers, and cash grants.

Eligible Blackpool households with one or two members, including children, can receive £200, while qualifying households with three or more members can get £300. To access this support, individuals must demonstrate financial hardship and difficulties in bill payment, along with providing recent household bank statements as evidence.

Applicants do not need to be receiving Universal Credit or other benefits to apply for the fund, but they are limited to one award within a 12-month period. Payments will be credited directly to the energy provider and reflected on the bill or pre-payment meter. Interested individuals can apply via the Blackpool Council website.

Residents outside Blackpool are advised to explore the support options available through their local council’s Household Support Fund. For instance, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is distributing £120 vouchers to qualifying residents, while City of York Council is offering one-off £100 payments to those receiving council tax bill assistance.

Portsmouth City Council is granting £150 to single-person households and £200 to couples or families meeting specific income criteria. Eligibility is based on receiving certain benefits and having a household income below specified thresholds.

Overall, various councils are stepping up to provide financial relief to households in need during the winter season.
