A former teammate of Joe Marler from the England rugby team expressed feeling betrayed during the final episode of the reality show “Celebrity Traitors.” Marler, who retired from international rugby in November last year, was selected as one of the celebrities in the inaugural season of the BBC program. As part of the Faithful group, his task was to identify and expose a trio of Traitors.
Throughout the show, Marler, known for his outspoken nature, advanced to the final four alongside actor Nick Mohammed. The two had formed a close bond and made a pact to support each other. However, Mohammed’s last-minute change of heart led to Marler’s elimination by his decisive vote, allowing chat show host Alan Carr to claim the entire £87,500 charity prize as the remaining Traitor.
Marler’s former teammates were surprised while watching the final together. Second-row Alex Coles, speaking before a match against Fiji, shared insights on Marler’s true personality behind the scenes and expressed disappointment at the outcome of the show.
Despite the unexpected turn of events, Marler harbors no ill feelings towards Mohammed post the dramatic vote. During a reunion, the two embraced, and Marler, speaking on Saturday Kitchen, broke his silence on the situation, acknowledging Mohammed’s decision and expressing affection for him.
Marler also formed a bond with comedian Joe Wilkinson on the show, praising Wilkinson for his humor and intelligence. Looking forward, Sky has announced a price reduction for its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle ahead of the upcoming season, offering over 1,400 live matches across various leagues including the Premier League and EFL, with at least 215 live Premier League games set to be broadcast next season.
