“Freeview Users Urged to Retune Devices for Channel Lineup Changes”

Must Read

Freeview users are advised to promptly check their settings and retune their devices following a recent update by the UK TV platform. The update introduces various changes to the channel lineup and TV guide, as confirmed by Freeview. Broadcasters are implementing adjustments this week, necessitating a retune to ensure channels and the TV guide remain current.

The update includes four key changes. Firstly, three channels have been rebranded with new names, visible when browsing the TV guide. That’s TV 3 (Channel 71) is now known as That’s 20th Century, featuring music from past decades and iconic shows like Yes, Minister and The Saint. Additionally, That’s TV 3 MCR (Channel 86) has been renamed That’s 20th Century MCR, and That’s Classics MCR (Channel 93) is now simply That’s Classics.

Moreover, a new channel, That’s Entertainment, will launch on Channel 75. While specific program listings are not widely available yet, more details are expected soon. Freeview emphasizes that such updates are part of ongoing changes as broadcasters continuously adjust their offerings to maintain varied and up-to-date content.

Freeview users should expect to see these changes reflected in the TV planner. If not, a retune may be necessary by following these steps:

1. Press the menu button on your remote.
2. Navigate to settings, installation, or a similar option.
3. Enter your PIN if prompted (commonly 1234 or 0000).
4. Select “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” or “full retune.”
5. Confirm the deletion of existing channels.
6. Your device will automatically search for and store the updated channels.

While Freeview updates occur regularly, this recent update is considered significant, making it advisable to retune sooner rather than later.
