“Sunny Weather Causes TV Reception Woes for Freeview Users”

Must Read

A period of sunny weather is causing issues for Freeview users, leading to potential disruptions in TV reception until Friday. This weather phenomenon is attributed to a high-pressure system covering the UK, affecting the signals used for TV channel delivery.

The BBC explains that high-pressure conditions can cause local transmitter signals to travel higher in the atmosphere, while signals from distant transmitters can interfere with local broadcasts, resulting in picture glitches, freezing, or signal loss.

Freeview has issued a statement warning viewers of potential disruptions from Wednesday to Friday due to the weather conditions. Unfortunately, there are no immediate solutions, and viewers are advised against retuning their TVs during this period.

For those frustrated with weather-related interruptions, an alternative service called Freely, developed by the creators of Freeview, offers television via broadband instead of traditional aerial signals. Freely is immune to weather interference, providing uninterrupted viewing experiences regardless of changing conditions.

In addition to weather resilience, Freely offers over 50 live and on-demand channels, live TV pause feature, personalized recommendations, and an interactive program guide for viewers’ convenience.
