A spokesperson from the Royal Parks clarified that no incidents of swan hunting or consumption had been reported in London’s eight Royal Parks. They emphasized that their wildlife officers collaborate with the Swan Sanctuary to safeguard the well-being of swans throughout the parks they oversee, including Hyde Park, Greenwich Park, and Richmond Park.
During a recent LBC phone-in, Mr. Farage was questioned regarding former US President Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claim last year about Haitian immigrants in the US eating cats and dogs. When pressed if he would acknowledge the baselessness of Mr. Trump’s claim, Farage diverted the conversation to the alleged consumption of swans in Britain, drawing a parallel to Trump’s unproven assertion about pet consumption.
Farage raised the hypothetical scenario of people from cultures where such practices are deemed acceptable partaking in the consumption of swans and fish in the UK. When asked if he was referring to Eastern Europeans, he affirmed his belief in that context.
In another segment of the LBC interview, Mr. Farage declined to comment on whether Donald Trump’s linkage of paracetamol to autism was irresponsible. Dismissing the notion of settled science, he refrained from aligning with medical experts cautioning against drawing such connections.
Health Secretary Wes Streeting criticized Mr. Farage, labeling him as lacking both knowledge and courage. Streeting highlighted an instance where a health advisor at Reform’s Conference purportedly claimed that the Covid vaccine caused cancer in the Royal Family, denouncing Farage as anti-science, anti-reason, and anti-NHS.
