Must Read

Emergency services responded to a significant fire at a supermarket petrol station in Doncaster, where thick plumes of smoke rose into the sky. The incident, believed to have been triggered by a vehicle catching fire, prompted the evacuation of the nearby Morrisons store on York Road.

Eyewitnesses captured footage of the scene, showing the smoke emanating from the petrol station. According to reports, the fire, which involved a van, emitted a strong odor in the vicinity. The incident occurred shortly after a tragic event at an Oasis gig, where a father posted three words before his demise.

A spokesperson from South Yorkshire Police disclosed that they were alerted to the fire at 10:23 am and assisted in managing the situation. As a safety precaution, a road closure was implemented, and both the petrol station and adjacent supermarket were temporarily cleared. Following the successful extinguishing of the fire, all roads were reopened, and evacuations were lifted, with one individual sustaining minor injuries.

An eyewitness, John Swiffen, recounted his experience at the petrol station, where he and his son detected a strong gas smell before realizing a van was on fire. All previously closed roads have since been reopened, and evacuations have been lifted, with South Yorkshire Police confirming the fire’s containment.
