Amazon Recalls A-Faction856 Ceiling Fan for Electric Shock Risk

Must Read

A ceiling fan sold on Amazon has been recalled due to safety concerns about potential electric shock risks. The A-Faction856 Ceiling Fan, manufactured in China, is under scrutiny with product codes FBA15JYLVF9HU000040 and X0027BDFWD being flagged for rejection by border authorities.

The Office for Product Safety and Standards highlighted the danger, stating that the fan lacks proper insulation, creepage, and clearance distance between circuits, posing a significant electric shock hazard. The product fails to meet the safety standards set by the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.

Consumers who have purchased this fan are advised to contact Amazon for refund options. This recall follows a previous safety alert issued for certain models of Citroen C3 and DS3s due to potential faults in Takata airbag systems.

In a separate safety concern, nearly 60,000 Tower air fryers in the Republic of Ireland are being recalled over fire risk worries. The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) urged users to cease using specific Tower air fryer models due to a manufacturing defect discovered.

While no incidents have been reported in Ireland, instances of these air fryers catching fire have been documented in the UK. The affected air fryers, produced between 2020 and 2024, were retailed by various stores including Argos, Tesco Ireland, DID, Dealz, Lidl, and Amazon.

Consumers can identify the affected model by checking the appliance rating label at the fryer’s base. Individuals with these air fryers should cease usage immediately, disconnect the appliance, and contact Tower Housewares at towerproduct@customersvc.co.uk for further instructions.

For additional guidance, consumers can reach out to the CCPC national consumer helpline at 01 402 5555 or email ask@ccpc.ie.
