Sainsbury’s Introduces Nectar Loyalty Scheme Update to Help Shoppers Save Money
Starting July 25, supermarket customers nationwide can benefit from Your Nectar Prices, offering personalized discounts based on individual shopping patterns. These exclusive discounts, up to ten per week, were previously accessible only through the SmartShop app and online. Sainsbury’s anticipates that these refreshed deals, saving an average shopper £150, will be well-received.
Mark Given, Sainsbury’s Chief Marketing, Data, and Sustainability Officer, emphasized the focus on personalized loyalty benefits, stating, “We aim to provide unique savings tailored to each customer through Your Nectar Prices. This initiative is designed to reward customers for their loyalty with extra savings on their preferred products.”
Earning one Nectar point for every pound spent in-store translates to a 0.5% cashback return. Additionally, Nectar points can be collected at Sainsbury’s fuel stations and partner brands such as eBay, Expedia, and Just Eat.
Following the closure of in-store changing rooms, where customers could try on TU clothing items, shoppers expressed frustration at the inconvenience. Criticism mounted as customers highlighted the importance of trying on clothes before making a purchase. Sainsbury’s recent closures of in-store cafes in April were attributed to increased costs due to impending tax hikes following the October Budget announcement.
