A perplexed couple returned home to find their house covered in scaffolding that they hadn’t requested. CCTV footage captured three unknown construction workers arriving at the residence of Mike Keeling, 56, and Leanne Smith, 45, while they were away. The workers were seen unloading scaffold tubes from a truck, with one man even jokingly responding ‘Hello, Chinese takeaway’ when prompted by the doorbell camera.
Upon his return, Mike Keeling was surprised to see scaffolding on his property, initially thinking it belonged to someone else until realizing it was his own house. Despite efforts to identify the source, including contacting local scaffolders and inquiring with neighbors, no leads have been found.
The lack of identification on the scaffolding or the workers’ vehicles has left the couple hesitant to remove the equipment, fearing it could be considered theft. Offers to dismantle the scaffolding in exchange for keeping the materials have added to their uncertainty.
The unexpected scaffolding not only poses an inconvenience but also raises security concerns for the couple. Mike Keeling hopes that public attention will help locate the rightful owners of the scaffolding. In the meantime, he is contemplating using it for household maintenance tasks.
The couple remains uncertain about the next steps, considering the possibility that the workers may have mistaken the address or could return to remove the scaffolding.
