A young boy, believed to be deceased, was laid to rest in secret wearing his favorite teddy bear and pajamas after passing away, recent disclosures have unveiled.
Reportedly, police confiscated a suitcase thought to have held the boy’s belongings and toys from the residence in Donabate where the child’s mother resides, as per claims from the Irish Mirror. Additionally, officers found a hidden photo of the boy during a search of the property.
The mother, originally from Africa but a long-time resident of Ireland, asserts that her child died naturally in his sleep. It was previously disclosed that the child remained in the apartment for a day after his passing, then was taken from the property the next night, placed in a backpack, and surreptitiously buried on grounds more than 4km away.
Ongoing searches are being conducted this week on the marshy lands section that has been cordoned off, with numerous officers combing the area. Details have emerged that the child was wrapped in a blanket and put back in his bed before being taken from the apartment, packed in a backpack, and transported to the location with his cherished teddy bear gifted by his foster parents.
The boy’s biological parents had him adopted and placed with a foster family under Tusla – the Child and Family Agency’s care. However, around 18 months old, the mother changed her mind, and the child was returned to her and her then-partner, the boy’s father.
Both the mother and father of the boy, who has relocated to South America, are informally cooperating with investigators. Sources suggest they maintain finding the child deceased in bed and subsequently burying him secretly in the nearby marshy lands due to panic.
Accompanied by her solicitor Martin O’Donnell from Morgan Redmond Solicitors in Swords and investigators, the mother pinpointed a new location in the marshy lands last Saturday where she alleges the boy’s remains were concealed.
To date, no trace of the young boy has been located. Authorities from Swords Station, leading the inquiry, presume the boy was interred on the land. Concerns arise that wild animals like foxes in the area may have disturbed the remains due to the shallow burial.
Insiders indicate that the police are confident in the boy’s existence but acknowledge his unfortunate demise.
