“Freevee App Shutdown Sparks Transition to Prime Video”

Must Read

Users of the Fire TV Stick will soon lose access to the Freevee app, as Amazon had previously announced its impending closure. The shutdown of the popular service is scheduled for the end of August, resulting in the app ceasing to function starting September 1, 2025.

Freevee, known for providing free streams of movies, TV shows, and live TV broadcasts, will no longer be available on Fire TV Sticks, iOS, and Android devices. Shows like Jury Duty, Alex Rider, Bosch: Legacy, and Hell’s Kitchen USA, currently available on Freevee, will transition to Amazon’s Prime Video app.

In a move to streamline its services, Amazon is migrating Freevee content to Prime Video. Users will need to download the Prime Video app and sign in with their Amazon account to continue watching the shows for free. While some content may require a Prime subscription or a one-time fee, the transition aims to attract Freevee users to subscribe to Prime Video.

A notification within the Freevee app informs customers that Prime Video will become the new home for Freevee TV shows, movies, and live TV. By August 2025, the Freevee app will be inaccessible, directing users to access the content via Prime Video.

From September 1 onward, Prime Video will be the exclusive platform for viewing Freevee content, compelling users to switch to the new app. Existing Prime Video subscribers will benefit from having all Amazon content consolidated in a single app, eliminating the need to navigate between Freevee and Prime Video separately.
