“Butlin’s Traveler Forced to Discard Clothes After Bed Bug Nightmare”

Must Read

A traveler was forced to leave Butlin’s and discard most of her clothing due to a bed bug infestation. Hollie Honeyman experienced a distressing stay at Butlin’s in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, during a four-day trip, where she found bed bugs in her bed and curtains.

Hollie suffered over 100 severe bites that covered her entire body, causing redness and inflammation on her face, neck, back, and arms. Despite being offered a room change by Butlin’s, Hollie’s holiday was ruined as she felt too anxious to sleep.

Due to the painful and itchy bites, Hollie cut her trip short and spent a day disinfecting her belongings to prevent bringing the bugs home. She decided to dispose of most of her luggage and clothes upon returning home, as the bites worsened and became infected.

After seeking medical help and receiving treatment, Hollie vowed never to stay at Butlin’s again. Although offered a £400 refund by the company, Hollie refused, believing she deserved more compensation. Butlin’s expressed regret over her experience and assured guests of their rigorous bed bug prevention measures.

Hollie’s partner also suffered bites, leading to discomfort and allergic reactions. Hollie described her ongoing struggle with paranoia and itchiness, urging others to be cautious when staying at such establishments.

In response, a Butlin’s spokesperson acknowledged the incident and pledged to address the concerns raised by Hollie directly. The company emphasized their stringent cleaning protocols, including measures to detect and eliminate bed bugs.
