“O2 Offers Customers Free 10GB Data Bonus in December”

Must Read

O2, the renowned UK mobile network now under Virgin Media, is brightening up December by generously offering millions of customers an extra 10GB of mobile data at no extra charge. This bonus is a valuable addition, especially during a time when many individuals are frequently on the move.

Eligible users will automatically receive the free 10GB added to their monthly data allowance, visible in their account and the MyO2 app at some point this month. Simply check your settings to confirm the free data boost.

The additional data comes with no usage restrictions, allowing users to enjoy activities like streaming movies, sharing photos, or engaging in video calls on platforms such as FaceTime. O2 specifies that this giveaway is a token of appreciation for being a customer of the network.

The offer is applicable to all Pay Monthly customers, except those already on Unlimited plans or business tariffs. If you are on a standard monthly plan without unlimited data, you can expect your festive bonus data to be activated soon.

Christian Hindennach, the Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Media O2, expressed, “This season is about connecting with loved ones, and we aim to facilitate that connection in every way possible. With this 10GB data boost, our customers can indulge in streaming holiday films, gaming, or video calling distant friends and family. It’s our way of bringing some extra joy and thanking our customers for choosing O2.”

According to O2, the additional data could translate to approximately 20 hours of video calls, 2,000 streamed songs, or about four and a half hours of HD content viewing on platforms like Netflix or Disney+.

This complimentary offer follows the release of Ofcom’s latest Connected Nations report, revealing that UK smartphone users consumed 10% more mobile data in 2025 compared to 2024, totaling a massive 1.2 billion GB each month. To put it into perspective, that’s roughly equivalent to streaming 400 million HD football matches—a scenario that could be seen as either a dream or a nightmare depending on one’s perspective.
