An individual in their thirties who is involved in the world of motorsport has been accused of sexually assaulting a nurse who previously worked for Michael Schumacher. According to a report from Swiss newspaper 24heures, the accused individual committed the assault at the residence of the former Formula One champion in Gland, Switzerland.
The accusations stem from an incident in 2019 but have only recently surfaced, with the alleged victim reporting the assault over two years after it occurred. A trial is reportedly set to commence this week.
According to the rape charges, the individual sexually assaulted the nurse, who was providing care for Schumacher after his severe skiing accident in December 2013, in an upper-floor bedroom following a night of heavy drinking.
It is alleged that the accused and the nurse encountered each other in the billiard room of the mansion located by Lake Geneva.
The accused individual has claimed that there was a previous encounter involving a kiss at a club in Geneva, although the nurse has refuted the existence of any close relationship.
The Schumacher family members are not implicated in the allegations, as per the indictment, stating that none of them were present during the events.
Over a decade ago, the legendary seven-time world champion suffered a severe head injury in a skiing accident, requiring constant care from a medical team residing at his home.
Schumacher spent 250 days in a medically induced coma before being discharged for continued treatment at home.
