Prior to President Trump’s arrival in the UK, Bragg promoted a ‘Trump Not Welcome’ demonstration at London’s Portland Place. The event, scheduled around the same time as President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump’s private lunch with senior royal family members, aimed to rally against what Bragg termed a “moment of national humiliation.”
Bragg urged his followers to join him in rejecting Trump’s visit, emphasizing the futility of appeasing bullies. At a rally in Parliament Square, Bragg, 67, performed his protest song Hundred Year Hunger, suggesting that President Trump could swiftly end the Gaza conflict.
The gathering featured various speakers, with attendees limited to Parliament Square and Whitehall due to public order conditions. Meanwhile, Channel 4 criticized President Trump, pledging to expose his “untruths” during his state visit through special coverage. Ian Katz, Channel 4’s chief content officer, highlighted the broadcast’s focus on Trump’s alleged falsehoods, aiming to shed light on the consequences of disregarding the truth.
