“Co-operative Bank Cuts Branch Hours Amid Declining Foot Traffic”

Must Read

The Co-operative Bank plans to reduce operating hours at 40 of its branches starting next year. Some branches will experience a cut of up to three hours per week, with 18 branches closing for a day each week. For instance, the Brighton branch will now operate from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm instead of its previous hours of 9 am to 5 pm. Similarly, the Caerphilly branch will change its hours from 10 am to 2 pm and will be closed on Wednesdays, compared to its current schedule of 9 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday.

The Co-operative Bank, serving 2.5 million customers, announced on its website that the adjustments are a response to decreased foot traffic in branches. The bank stated that more customers are opting for mobile, online, or telephone banking. Despite the reduced branch hours, customer support will still be available through other channels. Alternative branches will be open when a particular branch is closed during the week.
