“Ex-World Champion Rugby Player Assaults Bouncers”

Must Read

A former world kickboxing champion and Scotland rugby player was involved in an altercation with two bouncers outside a bar in the city center. Christianne Fahey, who competed for Scotland in the Six Nations and is also a professional boxer, reportedly assaulted the security personnel by throwing a punch at one and attempting to headbutt the other. During the court proceedings, Sheriff William Wood acknowledged Fahey’s sporting achievements but also highlighted her history of violent incidents and the need for her to take control of her actions.

Sheriff Wood emphasized that despite potential and talent, Fahey had been involved in previous violent offenses, including a prison sentence. He advised her to refrain from escalating situations and acknowledged that while the incident may have been provoked, the bouncers were performing their duties. Fahey, aged 34, was sentenced to six months of social work supervision and 100 hours of unpaid community work after pleading guilty to assaulting the bouncers in Perth on February 2.

According to the prosecutor, the confrontation occurred when the bouncers asked Fahey to leave the Bank Bar, resulting in her becoming aggressive and physically assaulting them. Fahey was restrained by the bouncers until law enforcement arrived and took her into custody. In her defense, Fahey’s solicitor mentioned that her behavior that day was influenced by a combination of intoxication and mental health issues. Fahey had previously served a 22-month jail term in 2019 for assaulting her ex-girlfriend and another woman in Dundee, causing them lasting injuries.
