Fans are shying away from Jake Paul’s controversial bout against Gervonta Davis as ticket prices have been slashed by half. The two fighters are scheduled to face off in Miami on November 14 in an exhibition match. Criticism has arisen due to the significant difference in weight classes between the fighters. Paul, who typically competes in the cruiserweight division, moved up to heavyweight for his victory over Mike Tyson last November.
On the other hand, Davis, an American fighter, primarily competes in the lightweight category. Amid uncertainty about the fight’s regulations, the event organizers have revealed that it will be a 10-round exhibition with three-minute rounds and a weight limit of 195lbs. Both fighters will wear 12-ounce gloves during the match.
Despite the event’s specifications, there appears to be a lack of interest from fans, leading to a significant drop in ticket prices with just over two weeks remaining until fight night. Tickets are available for purchase through Ticketmaster, Viagogo, and Stubhub. As of October 15, the cheapest tickets on Viagogo were priced at £139 ($186).
Ticket prices have fluctuated notably in recent weeks, with the most expensive ringside ticket priced at £4,043 ($5,413). On StubHub, the cheapest tickets were selling for £131 ($223), while ringside seats were listed at £9,480 ($12,686). As of October 30, Ticketmaster’s cheapest standard admission ticket was priced at £69.58 ($91.50), while ringside seats were offered at £2,080 ($2,736). The Diamond VIP Package, the most expensive ticket available, costs £22,807 ($30,000).
The highly anticipated fight between Paul and Davis is set to take place on November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Florida. Exact fight times will be announced closer to the event, but the main event is expected to commence around 4 am UK time. The match will be broadcast live on Netflix, with the streaming provider including it in all subscription plans, ranging from £5.99 to £18.99 per month.
