“Hamilton’s Rare Crash Adds Drama to Dutch Grand Prix”

Must Read

Lewis Hamilton expressed his surprise at his rare crash during the Dutch Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver lost control on the banked third corner of the Zandvoort track, attributing the incident to wet conditions and losing grip on a painted section off the track.

While speaking to Sky Sports, Hamilton refrained from pinpointing the exact cause of the crash, mentioning the rear of his car snapping out as he navigated the bank. Despite the mishap, he had been content with his car’s performance up to that point, aiming to catch George Russell and other competitors ahead.

The ill-timed crash affected Hamilton’s teammate, Charles Leclerc, who had just made a pit stop for fresh tires before the incident. Subsequently, a duel ensued between Leclerc and Russell, with the latter accusing Leclerc of corner-cutting during a maneuver. This led to a post-race investigation by the stewards.

If Leclerc receives a penalty, it will impact his performance at the upcoming race in Monza. Additionally, Leclerc’s race ended prematurely after a collision with Kimi Antonelli, further affecting Ferrari’s results at the event. The day also saw a rookie mistake from a Mercedes driver, resulting in a collision with Leclerc and significant damage to the Ferrari.

Hamilton’s crash and the subsequent incidents added drama to the race, with fans being able to follow all the action live through Sky’s Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle, which offers extensive coverage of Formula 1 events along with other entertainment options such as Netflix and Discovery+.
