In Japan, a senior woman was discovered keeping her daughter’s body in a freezer at their home for two decades. The woman, Keiko Mori, aged 75, turned herself in to the police in Ibaraki Prefecture, Tokyo, on September 23, along with a family member. She had been living alone since her husband’s recent death and confessed to preserving her daughter’s body in the freezer, born in 1975.
Upon investigating Mori’s residence in Tokyo, authorities found the hidden truth she had concealed for years – a decomposed woman’s body in the freezer, clad in only a T-shirt and underwear. The police stated that an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death of the daughter. Mori was arrested for suspected abandonment of a body.
Mori disclosed to investigators that the odor from her daughter’s corpse permeated the house, leading her to purchase the freezer for storage. However, she did not delve into the circumstances of her daughter’s demise or her potential involvement. It was revealed that Mori had more than one child, although the exact number was undisclosed.
