Katy Perry Fined €6,001 for Unauthorized Music Video Filming

Must Read

A substantial penalty was imposed following Katy Perry’s unauthorized filming of a music video in a protected area. The singer, who recently ended her engagement with Orlando Bloom, shot the footage for her song LIFETIMES in the Ses Salines Natural Park on Spain’s Balearic Islands last summer. Environmental activists alerted authorities to the unauthorized filming in a restricted zone, covering 40,000 acres of land and sea across Ibiza and Formentera, requiring a permit from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Natural Environment for access. Consequently, her production company was fined.

The Balearic government mandated the firm to pay €6,001 (£5,197) for the violation. The penalty was promptly settled after the release of the music video on August 8 last year. The protected area serves as a nesting site for migrating birds, supported by UNESCO World Heritage. Despite the seriousness of the offense, officials found no lasting environmental damage.

Allegedly, Katy Perry felt “let down and humiliated” when her ex-partner Orlando Bloom mocked her rumored relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The singer, aged 40, was romantically linked to the politician after a dinner in late July at Le Violon restaurant in Montreal, where they dined on lobster and cocktails. Subsequently, Justin, 53, attended Katy’s concert in the city, showing support for her music. However, Orlando, 48, seemingly criticized the new relationship on social media, creating tension between them.

Expressing disappointment with Orlando’s behavior, a source disclosed Katy’s feelings of betrayal and hurt. The former couple officially announced the end of their nine-year relationship in June, emphasizing their commitment to co-parenting their four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.
