Lorraine Kelly to Exit ITV After Contract Expires

Must Read

Lorraine Kelly is reportedly set to depart from ITV once her current contract expires next year. The 65-year-old presenter was displeased when ITV announced earlier this year that her show would only air for 30 weeks in 2026, down from the usual 52 weeks. The program’s runtime will also be reduced to half an hour from 9:30 am to 10 am starting in January, causing frustration for Lorraine.

Following ongoing consultations to address ITV’s financial constraints, it seems that Lorraine Kelly has made the decision to part ways with the channel once her contract concludes. Despite the uncertainty surrounding staff cuts, Lorraine is prepared to bid farewell after hosting her own show for 15 years.

The impending changes may impact Lorraine’s regular stand-ins, Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh, as their appearances on the show could be reduced. A source disclosed to Mail Online that Lorraine perceives this as the end of her tenure with ITV, noting that while she will fulfill her remaining contract term, there are no plans for her to continue thereafter.

Having marked her 40th year in television last year, Lorraine, originally from Glasgow, has been a prominent figure on morning TV, following Good Morning Britain in ITV’s lineup. The staff across these shows, along with other daytime programming on ITV, are reportedly facing significant effects from the restructuring.

Despite the turmoil, it is understood that presenter Richard Madeley will stay on, signing a new short-term contract to continue hosting Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid for at least another six months. The veteran broadcaster, hailing from Romford, east London, is among the few securing their positions amidst the network’s changes.
