“Newborn Abandoned with Stone and Glue in Rajasthan”

Must Read

In a shocking incident in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, a helpless newborn baby was discovered abandoned with a stone lodged in his mouth and his lips sealed shut with glue to stifle his cries. The infant was found lying amidst rocks and debris, left to perish, until a compassionate cattle herder intervened to remove the obstruction, prompting the baby to cry out in relief.

The herder and local villagers promptly rushed the baby to the Bijolia Government Hospital for urgent medical care. Doctors determined the baby to be around 15 to 20 days old, noting adhesive not only around his mouth but also on his thighs.

Authorities suspect that the use of glue and the stone was a deliberate attempt to silence the baby and avoid detection. Investigations are underway, with police examining delivery records from nearby hospitals to identify recent female patients who may have given birth.

Efforts are also being made to locate the baby’s parents, as Rajasthan police continue their inquiries while ensuring the child receives necessary medical attention.

This distressing incident sheds light on broader challenges in India, where similar cases of abandonment have been reported. Recently, a five-month-old girl was found abandoned in bushes in Chandigarh, and on the same day, a baby with fractured hands was rescued from a drain in Jharkhand. In another incident, a two-day-old baby was left outside a girls’ orphanage in Maharashtra with a note citing mental and financial distress.

Local residents have shown compassion in these instances, stepping up to assist the abandoned infants and ensure they receive proper care and attention.
