Mitchum, a popular deodorant manufacturer, has advised customers to verify the batch numbers on their products. This recommendation comes as the company initiates a recall of certain items from store shelves following reports of customers experiencing injuries.
In response to complaints of users developing uncomfortable rashes under their arms, described as “painful” and “itchy,” Mitchum issued a public apology. The company has encouraged individuals affected by the irritation to discontinue using the implicated product immediately.
Instances of inflamed armpits have been shared by consumers on social media platforms like TikTok and Instagram after using specific roll-on deodorants from the brand. While some speculated that ingredient changes were the cause, Mitchum clarified that the issue stemmed from a modification in the manufacturing process of one of its raw materials.
Acknowledging the feedback received, Mitchum stated, “Some customers reported temporary irritation when using certain batches of Mitchum 48-hour 100ml roll-on deodorant sold in the UK, Ireland, and South Africa.” The company expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and the time taken to address the matter.
Despite the company’s efforts to communicate, an Instagram post addressing the issue faced criticism from dissatisfied customers. Some individuals expressed frustration over the severity of their skin reactions and vowed to discontinue using Mitchum products.
In response to the manufacturing alteration that led to skin reactions, Mitchum assured customers that corrective measures had been implemented to meet quality standards. The company emphasized that not all product batches were affected and advised consumers to verify the batch number on the product packaging for identification.
Assuring the public that the issue had been resolved, Mitchum assured consumers that remaining affected products were being removed from shelves. Customers experiencing any problems were encouraged to contact the company’s Customer Care team for assistance.
For individuals facing issues, Mitchum recommended discontinuing product use immediately and reaching out to customer support via email or phone for further assistance.
