Emma Raducanu has spoken out following her selection to represent Great Britain at the upcoming United Cup in January. The talented former US Open champion will team up with Jack Draper for the mixed-gender tournament.

Both Raducanu and Draper had to end their seasons prematurely, with Raducanu withdrawing due to medical issues while Draper was dealing with an arm injury.

This will be the debut appearance for both players at the United Cup. Raducanu opted out of the Billie Jean King Cup to focus on individual competitions in Asia but is thrilled to join Draper in representing Team GB. She expressed her excitement about playing for her country and experiencing a new format in Australia.

Draper also shared his eagerness to return to competition at the United Cup. He mentioned his anticipation for the draw to see if Team GB will play in Perth or Sydney, as he looks forward to competing in a new city in Australia.

Raducanu faced challenges during the Asian swing post-US Open, including health issues and early exits from tournaments. She withdrew from her remaining 2025 events for health reasons but is expected to be ready for the United Cup starting on January 2.

Meanwhile, Draper was sidelined due to an arm injury after Wimbledon, returning to play at the US Open. After a brief appearance in New York, he withdrew due to an arm injury. Draper is set to make a comeback at the UTS London event, while Raducanu will face Amanda Anisimova in an exhibition match in Miami.

Following these events, Raducanu and Draper will kick off their 2026 seasons at the United Cup before aiming for the Australian Open.
