Authorities in Brazil reported that a renowned bodybuilder, Valter de Vargas Aita, was fatally stabbed by his girlfriend in a violent altercation at their residence. The incident resulted in substantial bloodstains in the common areas of the apartment building, where Aita was discovered deceased on the stairs.
The attack, which occurred on a Sunday morning, left Aita with multiple stab wounds to his neck, face, abdomen, and back. Although the reason behind the altercation remains unclear, neighbors reported hearing a disturbance prior to the tragic event.
Images released by investigators depicted the aftermath of the incident, showing bloodstains throughout the building as Aita attempted to flee before succumbing to his injuries. Following reports of a violent altercation, law enforcement officers responded to the scene and found Aita deceased. His girlfriend, also injured in the confrontation, was hospitalized in critical condition.
The girlfriend, who remains unidentified, was already wanted for prior criminal activities and was facing a lengthy prison sentence before the altercation. Authorities stated that if she survives, she will be arrested on suspicion of murder.
Law enforcement officials have not disclosed the specific cause of the altercation but mentioned that it stemmed from a heated argument that escalated into violence. Aita, a distinguished bodybuilding figure, had a successful career in the fitness industry, participating in numerous competitions over the years.
Aside from his bodybuilding endeavors, Aita also served as a popular personal trainer, sharing his fitness routines and dietary advice with a large online following. In a show of respect, the gym where he worked remained closed following the tragic incident.
In a separate incident in March, another Brazilian bodybuilder, Luiz Garnica, and his mother were arrested after his wife, Larissa Rodrigues, was found dead under suspicious circumstances. Reports suggested that Larissa had discovered her husband’s infidelity, leading to a series of events that culminated in her tragic death.
Following toxicology tests, which revealed the presence of a toxic substance in Larissa’s system, Garnica and his mother were taken into custody. The investigation indicated that Larissa had been aware of her husband’s infidelity for an extended period of time before the unfortunate incident.
