“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Seeks Transfer to Low-Security Prison”

Must Read

Disgraced musician Sean “Diddy” Combs is seeking approval from the court to serve his four-year prison sentence at a low-security facility, according to reports. Diddy was recently sentenced to four years and two months in prison after being convicted of two counts of transportation for prostitution. Following his incarceration at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since last September, the artist is now requesting a transfer to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, known for its more relaxed environment.

In a letter addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs’ defense attorney, Teny Geragos, urged the court to recommend placement at FCI Fort Dix for the Residential Drug Abuse Treatment Program (RDAP) and other educational and vocational programs to address substance abuse issues and enhance family visitation and rehabilitation efforts.

RDAPs are voluntary programs in federal prisons that offer cognitive-behavioral therapy for individuals with substance abuse disorders, typically lasting six to twelve months. Participants engage in drug abuse treatment activities, work assignments, and educational programs within a designated section of the prison.

During his court appearance, Combs admitted that his time in federal custody marked the first 25 years of sobriety in his life. Expressing remorse, he acknowledged losing his way due to drugs and excessive behavior. FCI Fort Dix, which accommodates around 4,000 inmates and is situated within the McGuire Air Force Base, could be Combs’ new residence as he aims for release in November 2028 after serving the remaining time following his 13 months already spent in prison.
