Brian Cox, known for his role in Succession, has sharply criticized Nigel Farage, describing him as “selfish and corrupt.”
During an appearance on the BBC’s Sunday Morning show, Cox expressed his disappointment with Farage’s lack of knowledge. He mentioned feeling amazed at how people are swayed by Farage’s tactics.
The Scottish actor, a Golden Globe winner, shared his views with Laura Kuenssberg, criticizing Farage’s conduct during the interview. Cox particularly objected to the host’s comments about Farage’s tax affairs.
Cox stated, “I perceive him as very corrupt, to be honest. He’s self-centered and generally lacks knowledge.
“I am astounded by the number of people who have fallen for his tactics because he tends to be domineering – evident in how he conducted the interview with Ms. Kuenssberg. It was quite pushy and persistent.
“I simply do not trust him, especially at a time when being part of Europe is crucial due to the events in Ukraine. Failing to acknowledge this now would be detrimental.
During the interview, Farage seemed defensive in response to the questioning. Kuenssberg pointed out discrepancies, such as the ownership of a house in his Clacton constituency by his girlfriend and payments for GB News hosting going to his company rather than directly to him as per parliamentary records.
Farage retorted, “I contest the premise of that question.” He justified his entrepreneurial background and ownership of various companies, including media ventures, emphasizing the importance of individuals in politics who have contributed significantly to job creation and tax payments.
Regarding his tax returns, Farage expressed reluctance, stating, “I have not disclosed my personal tax returns, which I find overly intrusive and unnecessary at this point.”
He added, “I am not inclined to do so currently.” According to the official register of members’ interests, Farage has declared £313,293.20 of income from GB News since becoming an MP.
