“Teenager in Custody for Manchester Homicide”

A teenager, aged 15, has been taken into custody on suspicion of a homicide that resulted in the death of another 15-year-old boy in Manchester. The Greater Manchester Police apprehended the suspect following a disturbance involving multiple individuals in the Moss Side locality. The victim was discovered with stab wounds on Monton Street around 4:30 pm on Monday. Authorities have implemented Section 60 powers for stop and search operations in the area until just after 5 pm the following day.

Further investigations are ongoing, with additional police presence expected in the vicinity in the coming days. Chief Superintendent David Meeney of the City of Manchester district expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends, emphasizing the support from specially trained officers during this challenging period.

The incident took place on Monton Street in Moss Side, where officers found the wounded teenager, who unfortunately succumbed to his injuries after receiving treatment at the scene and in the hospital. The police have confirmed the tragic event and the enforcement of a stop and search order until the next day evening.
