Tennis Icon Bjorn Borg Reveals Prostate Cancer Battle

Must Read

Tennis icon Bjorn Borg has revealed his battle with prostate cancer in an upcoming autobiography, as reported by media outlets in Sweden and Italy. The autobiography titled “Heartbeat,” co-written with his wife Patricia, is scheduled for release on September 18. The book delves into Borg’s private struggle with the disease, which he had kept confidential.

The publication of the book has been a closely guarded secret, with plans to release it in various countries including the USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Latin America, the Netherlands, and Italy, in addition to Sweden. Reports suggest that the book will not be provided to the media for review before its official release, and Borg is expected to limit his promotional interviews.

Despite efforts to keep the book under wraps, its early availability on online platforms in Italy has led to the public disclosure of Borg’s cancer diagnosis. Borg, a tennis legend of the 1970s, achieved remarkable success with five Wimbledon titles and six French Open victories, solidifying his status as one of the sport’s most beloved figures.

Known for his impeccable style on the court, Borg played a pivotal role in popularizing tennis, particularly during the rise of color television. Gunilla Bergmark from Norstedts, the book’s publishers, expressed the significance of sharing Borg’s story, emphasizing the anticipation surrounding its release.

For the upcoming 2025/26 season, Sky has announced a significant discount on its “Essential TV and Sky Sports” bundle, providing members with savings of £336. The bundle includes over 1,400 live matches across various leagues, with at least 215 live Premier League games set to be broadcast next season, an increase of up to 100 matches.
