Must Read

Tesco is set to raise the price of its meal deal starting this Thursday. Clubcard members will see the cost of the popular lunchtime option go up from £3.60 to £3.85, while non-Clubcard holders will experience an increase from £4 to £4.25.

The current top picks in the supermarket meal deal include the Tesco Chicken Club Sandwich as the main item, the Tesco Egg Protein Pot as the snack, and a 500ml Coca-Cola. Buying these items separately would amount to £6.50, resulting in a saving of £2.65 for Clubcard members. The premium Tesco meal deal will now cost £5.50 for Clubcard holders and £6 for non-members, up from £5.

This marks the third price hike for Clubcard members and the fourth for non-members. Previously, the prices were increased from £3 to £3.50 for non-Clubcard members in February and then to £3.40 for Clubcard holders and £3.90 for non-members in October of the same year. In August 2024, the prices went up to £3.60 for Clubcard members and £4 for non-members.

Tesco is planning to introduce new products to its premium meal deal, including finest sushi mains like the Finest Salmon Konbini Roll and Finest Gochujang Konbini Roll. The supermarket revealed that over 80% of its customers currently use a Clubcard when purchasing a lunchtime meal deal.

A Tesco spokesperson emphasized the value of the meal deal, highlighting the wide variety of options available to suit different tastes, from classic Chicken Club Sandwiches to Tesco Korean Style Chicken Dragon Rolls, all priced at £3.85 for a main, snack, and drink when Clubcard holders make the purchase.

In other news, Tesco is encouraging Clubcard members to check their receipts for a chance to win a new Vauxhall Frontera Electric car as part of its 30th Clubcard anniversary celebration. Shoppers can participate by scanning a QR code on selected receipts or visiting tesco.com/vauxhallcompetition.

The competition requires participants to answer a few questions, with the winner selected randomly from correct entries submitted by Tesco Clubcard members. The competition closes on August 31, with the grand prize being a Frontera Electric GS 44kWh 113PS car with optional features valued at £25,995 OTR.
