President Donald Trump once again made headlines for swearing during a live broadcast where he announced plans to bring Washington DC authorities under federal control. During his address in the nation’s capital, he outlined new strict federal measures targeting criminals and the homeless, starting with DC and potentially expanding to other blue strongholds like New York and Baltimore.
Despite delivering significant information, Trump veered off-script and directed profanity towards his long-standing rival, California Governor Gavin Newsom, whom he derogatorily refers to as ‘Newscum’. Criticizing Newsom’s handling of housing in Los Angeles, Trump dismissed him as someone with a “good line of bulls**t but that’s about it.”
Trump also expressed discontent with DC’s affluent neighborhood, attributing residents’ desire to leave to Mayor Muriel Bowser’s incompetence. Referring to Newsom once again as ‘Newscum’, Trump criticized his competence and labeled him as incompetent.
This outburst is not the first time Trump has used foul language during his presidency. Previously, he dropped an expletive during a speech in June amidst the crisis in the Middle East involving Israel and Iran. Trump’s public swearing is believed to be unprecedented for a sitting President, with no others on record uttering profanity in public.
