“UK Retailer B&M to Close All Stores on Christmas Day”

Must Read

B&M, a well-known discount retailer in the UK with over 700 stores, will be closing all its outlets for a day later this year. The store chain, known for its wide selection and frequent promotions, announced that its stores will be closed on Christmas Day, December 25, but will resume operations on Boxing Day, December 26.

Although the exact operating hours for Boxing Day at B&M are not yet specified, historically, most stores have operated from 8 am to 6 pm. Similar hours are expected for New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Customers are advised to check with their local stores for precise opening hours closer to the dates.

This decision follows a similar move by Home Bargains, another retailer, which announced the closure of its stores for three days during the festive period. Home Bargains stores will shut down at 5 pm on Christmas Eve and reopen on December 27, allowing staff to enjoy both Christmas Day and Boxing Day off. Additionally, stores will be closed on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, as part of the holiday break for employees.

A spokesperson from Home Bargains emphasized the importance of acknowledging the hard work of their staff throughout the year and providing them with extra time off during the holiday season. This decision aligns with the company’s values as a family-run business, supporting the well-being of their employees and encouraging them to spend quality time with loved ones during the festive period.
