Journalist Owen Jones has been asked to leave the Labour conference due to safety concerns, as confirmed by the party.
A known supporter of Jeremy Corbyn, Jones criticized Labour, likening their actions to those of former US President Trump. He expressed surprise at having his pass revoked, stating that he has been attending both Labour and Tory conferences for ten years, aiming to question ministers on critical issues often overlooked by mainstream media.
Jones accused the Labour government of complicity in serious crimes and asserted that attempts to silence him would not absolve them of guilt.
In response to Jones, Labour justified their decision, citing safeguarding obligations towards all attendees. They emphasized the need to ensure a secure and inclusive environment for everyone at the conference.
While Jones has been removed from the current conference, he retains the option to reapply for a pass in the coming years.
