“Man Dies on Universal Ride: Safety Concerns Raised”

Must Read

A tragic incident occurred at a Universal theme park where a man, Kevin Zavala, passed away after sustaining multiple blunt force injuries while riding the Stardust Racers attraction at Universal’s Epic Universe theme park in Florida. Zavala, who had a pre-existing spinal injury and used a wheelchair, became unresponsive during the ride and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The medical examiner ruled his death as an accident caused by blunt impact injuries, although the specific location of the injuries remains undisclosed. The park’s safety guide indicates that Stardust Racers is designed to assist wheelchair users in transitioning onto the ride.

Following the unfortunate event, Zavala’s family has enlisted civil rights attorney Ben Crump to seek answers and justice. Crump is urging the theme park to disclose information such as maintenance logs, inspection records, ride data, and CCTV footage to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In response, Universal Orlando Resort’s President and COO, Karen Irwin, affirmed that the ride was functioning normally and all equipment was in proper condition. The attraction has been temporarily closed for a comprehensive review process in collaboration with the ride manufacturer to ensure safety measures are upheld.

Zavala’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses and honor his memory as a compassionate and resilient individual who touched the lives of many. The fundraiser has surpassed its initial target, reflecting the outpouring of support for the family during this difficult time.
