“Trainer Disqualified for Abusing Racing Steward”

A horse racing trainer in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia, has been disqualified after verbally abusing a racing steward during an inspection. Garry Lunn, with a track record of training over 500 winners, including more than 100 at the Dubbo racecourse, faced disciplinary action following a heated exchange with steward Xavier Dalton.

During the inspection, Lunn was accused of using offensive language towards Dalton, questioning his competence and integrity. The incident escalated when Lunn followed Dalton to his vehicle, continuing the verbal assault even after Dalton attempted to leave the premises.

As a result of his behavior, Lunn was found guilty of obstructing Dalton from performing his duties and engaging in improper conduct. He received a three-month disqualification for the first offense and a nine-month disqualification for the second offense, to be served concurrently starting from November 14, 2025, until August 14, 2026.
