“Tesco Gives Away Wonky Christmas Trees for Charity”

Must Read

Tesco is set to distribute numerous complimentary Christmas trees for a limited period. These trees, considered “wonky,” are typically not for sale due to imperfections like uneven branches or a slight tilt. However, Tesco will offer them at no cost on Saturday, December 6, in selected stores, urging recipients to donate to the food charities Fareshare and Trussell.

The free trees will be available at various Tesco locations starting at 10 am on a first-come, first-served basis, limiting one tree per household. In comparison, the least expensive Christmas trees at other retailers are priced at £13.99 from Aldi and £14.99 from Home Bargains.

Ashwin Prasad, Tesco’s UK CEO, emphasized celebrating the imperfect moments during the holiday season, noting that despite their flaws, the wonky trees can bring charm to any home and support the designated food charity partners.

A recent survey commissioned by Tesco revealed that a significant portion of Brits prioritize the second weekend of December for decorating their Christmas trees. The survey also highlighted that most individuals value the imperfect aspects of Christmas, believing they contribute to the genuine festive spirit.

Furthermore, Tesco announced a promotion for Clubcard members, offering double points for every £1 spent on gift cards throughout December, applicable to third-party gift cards purchased in Tesco stores. This initiative extends to all gift card purchases, not limited to Tesco gift cards. Clubcard members can accrue points on various Tesco-related transactions, with 150 points translating to a £1.50 voucher redeemable at Tesco.
