The music industry is in mourning following the passing of Scott Sorry, the former member of The Wildhearts, who lost his battle with brain cancer.

Gerard Engelter, known by his stage name Scott Sorry, passed away on his 47th birthday. The sad news was shared on his Instagram account, stating that Scott had bravely fought against brain cancer for a long time.

Despite being diagnosed with Glioblastoma in 2018, Scott refused to let the illness define him. He surpassed doctors’ expectations, extending months into years and even managed to return to the UK in 2022 for a tour, which was a significant moment for him.

Grateful for the opportunity to perform again and reunite with his fans, Scott’s passing left a void in the hearts of many. His strength, humor, and kindness will be cherished forever. He is survived by his wife Hanni and their three children River, Ryder, and Rörik.

Fans expressed their condolences on social media, with model Mayra Dias Gomes and others paying tribute to Scott’s memory. The rock’n’roll community acknowledged his impact and expressed deep sorrow over his departure.

Scott’s battle with brain cancer was first announced in 2017 by bandleader Ginger on Twitter. A GoFundMe page was set up by his friend Rich Jones to support Scott’s medical expenses as he underwent treatment and surgery.
