Conservative Party Conference: Chocolate Bar Spelling Blunder

Must Read

James Cleverly faced a challenging moment during a live video interview when questioned about his party distributing chocolate bars with a misspelled “Britain” on them.

The Shadow Housing Secretary was seen attempting to steer the party in the right direction by engaging in a toy racing car game at the Conservative Party’s annual conference in Manchester.

Despite their efforts, the Conservative Party made a blunder by distributing chocolate bars with the incorrect spelling of “Britain,” stating, “When Labour negotiates, Britain loses.”

During the interview, LBC’s Natasha Clark pointed out the misspelling on the chocolate bars and questioned why the party, aiming to govern, had such an error. Mr. Cleverly responded awkwardly, attributing it to typos and emphasizing the importance of not cutting corners on sub-editing.

Clark pressed further, suggesting that the printing team be asked for a refund due to the mistake.

The official merchandise stand at the Conservative Party conference garnered attention for omitting references to Kemi Badenoch while prominently displaying images of former Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill.

Thatcher’s presence was particularly noticeable, with cardboard cutouts, quotes, and a museum showcasing her iconic outfits, underscoring the party’s heightened focus on her this year.

Various Thatcher-themed items like mugs with the slogan “no, no, no,” Christmas tree baubles, Toby jug-style busts, and a bottle of whisky featuring Thatcher’s image were available for sale, with some items selling out quickly.

In addition to Thatcher memorabilia, silk ties, socks, and cufflinks bearing the Tory logo were offered at the conference shop.

The influence of Donald Trump was also evident at the event, with a hat that read “Make Britain Great Again” drawing attention from Tory supporters.
