McLaren issued a formal apology to their drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, following their disqualification from the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Despite finishing in second and fourth place, the team faced scrutiny regarding the minimum width of their rearmost skid on the car after the race.

Team principal Andrea Stella of McLaren acknowledged the breach of Article 3.5.9 of the Technical Regulations, citing discrepancies in the thickness of the skid. The statement clarified that the violation was unintentional, with no deliberate intent to violate regulations. The team expressed regret for the impact on Norris and Piastri’s points standings during a crucial phase of their Championship campaigns.

Both Norris and Piastri expressed disappointment over their disqualification, setting the stage for an intense final showdown in the remaining races of the season in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The competition is expected to intensify, with contenders strategizing to capitalize on any opportunities that may arise in the quest for the championship.

Verstappen’s optimism for the upcoming races underscores the unpredictable nature of the sport, hinting at the role luck may play in determining the ultimate winner. The season finale promises excitement and suspense, with last year’s winners poised for another thrilling showdown in the upcoming races.
