A man who had survived three heart attacks was viciously assaulted in a Morrison’s car park while out for a “health walk.” Chris Mcnamara, in Gosport, Hampshire, was targeted by an assailant who performed kung fu-style kicks to his face. The incident occurred as Chris was checking his bank balance at a cash machine outside the supermarket. The attacker, described as a ‘Bruce Lee’ wannabe dressed in dark attire and sandals, became aggressive after Chris asked him to repeat a statement.
The stranger proceeded to kick Chris in the face multiple times, causing visible bruising and swelling around his right eye. Chris immediately contacted Hampshire Police, who escorted him to the hospital for medical evaluation before discharging him. Recounting the ordeal, Chris expressed fear for his safety and is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation.
Describing the attacker as tall, slim, with a shaven head, and wearing dark clothing and flip flops, Chris detailed how the assailant followed him and delivered additional kicks, resulting in further facial bruising and rib pain. Despite seeking refuge at a nearby store, Chris’s jumper was stained with blood, emphasizing the severity of the assault.
Chris’s sister, Sarah Armitage, expressed shock and disgust at the unprovoked attack on her brother, emphasizing his non-confrontational nature. Hampshire Police has confirmed an active investigation into the incident and is urging any witnesses to come forward to aid in identifying the perpetrator. The police provided a description of the suspect and requested anyone with relevant information to contact them.
The assault, which left Chris physically and emotionally shaken, underscores the need for swift justice to hold the assailant accountable for his actions.
