Russia Warns of Nuclear War Threat Over Tomahawk Missiles

Must Read

Russia has issued a warning that any decision by former US President Donald Trump to authorize the provision of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine could lead to a potential declaration of nuclear war against the United States and Britain by the Kremlin.

Recent intelligence reports indicate that the US is making preparations to support Ukraine with advanced targeting information for attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure. Furthermore, there are discussions about supplying Tomahawk and Barracuda missiles to enable deep incursions into Russian territory, viewed as a response to Moscow’s rejection of peace initiatives from Trump.

The proposed targets are aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s ongoing successful strikes on key Russian facilities, such as refineries, pipelines, and power stations, with the goal of disrupting Vladimir Putin’s oil supplies and revenues.

Military analyst Colonel Igor Korotchenko, the editor-in-chief of Russia’s ‘National Defence’ journal, highlighted the potential consequences of deploying the Tomahawk missiles, emphasizing that such actions could escalate into a global conflict. He stressed that Ukrainian forces alone may not be able to carry out such strikes, necessitating the involvement of US or British military forces to target Russian sites.

Colonel Korotchenko emphasized the significance of the Tomahawk missiles, noting their precision and versatility in conventional and nuclear warfare. He warned that transferring such powerful weapons to Ukraine would essentially trigger a war involving the United Kingdom or the United States against Russia.

While there is currently no indication that the Tomahawk missiles would be nuclear-armed, Colonel Korotchenko cautioned that Russia would respond decisively, utilizing its full arsenal of conventional and nuclear weapons if faced with a real threat.

He called for preemptive measures to prevent Western deployment of Tomahawks, advocating for cutting off essential supplies to Ukraine to force the government to negotiate peace on Russian terms.

In response to these developments, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov expressed concerns about the potential deployment of Tomahawk missiles on Ukrainian soil, questioning the parties responsible for launching and targeting these weapons.

The shift in Trump’s stance on intelligence and military support for Ukraine marks a stark contrast to his earlier policies, driven by Putin’s reluctance to end the conflict and broker a peace deal with Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russia has intensified its military actions, launching significant strikes in various regions, including Bucha, Kyiv, and Odessa, resulting in casualties and disruptions to infrastructure.

Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s deputy premier, condemned the ongoing attacks by Russia, targeting civilian areas and critical infrastructure. He called for increased sanctions and the disruption of supply chains to counter the aggressor’s actions and safeguard Ukrainian stability.
